Vista Breadcrumbs for Windows XP

The same programmer that created yesterday's Tabbed Explorer plugin also has another add-in that will give you Vista-style breadcrumbs in Windows XP. This application should be really helpful for those of you that aren't ready to switch to Windows Vista yet, but want to get some of the new features.

Installation of this application is fairly simple, just unzip the files into the location you'd like to keep them, and then double-click on the QTAddressBar.exe file.

Ohhh, WAY nice! Now if he could just port over the rest of Vista's nagivation features I'd have a good reason to want to switch back.

yes I liked that feature too in Vista, the navigation in Vista has improved, small tweaks here and there, and the Start Menu is really nice. But not reason enough to switch to Vista from XP in my humble opinion

yeah, navigation is a lot better now. Best change is in my humble opinion the colum titles (like you'd have in detailed view) that are available in every view mode

, makes it a lot fast to sort your stuff.
The only things I miss is an up button, in my humble opinion more usefull than the back button that is implemented ... I've tried the qttabbar plugin but I can't enable it

Was enough reason for me. If you use breadcrumbs than you don't need those up/back/forward buttons at all, I have not used them once since.

Navigating any kind of folder tree is SO much easier/faster, even little things like having the favorites pane that you can drag folders into, so in two clicks you can be inside the program files DIR, in another computer's shares, or a rightclick + left click can be at the root DIR of any shortcut. Even the save as dialog box includes the favorites pane so it only takes a second to save a file exactly where you want it to go.

XP's navigation sucked, and I forgot just how badly since I had gotten "used" to it over the past few years after switching from 98se. Vista made XP's hob-knob job of navigation readily apparent again. Forget the eye-candy, not wasting half my time navigating or hunting setting menus with a modern day optimized OS is fine by me.
