UK Cabinet Minister Cuts Ribbon on New NVIDIA Bristol Office

We were honored to have the Right Honorable David Willetts, Member of Parliament and Minister for Science & Universities, officially open our sparkling new Bristol, UK, mobile technology engineering facility Tuesday. While the new office is bigger — twice the size of the old one — the work going on there is focused on the increasingly tiny. That's because Bristol — located two hours west of London, along England's tech corridor — is where we design and develop our modem technology for smartphones and tablets. Specifically, the team works on baseband processors and software for implementing complex algorithms, which provide 4G LTE (as well as 3G and 2G) voice and data communications for mobile phone networks around the world.
