Default Train windows infiltrate your head to broadcast ads

In the latest move to put annoying advertising in places you don't want, German trains are going to be equipped with windows that talk to you in your sleep.

According to the Age, sleepy commuters in Germany who rest their heads on train windows will hear adverts that no one else can.

A transmitter attached to windows of trains in Munich and North Rhine-Westphalia was sending high-frequency vibrations to the windowpane, so voices could be heard through bone conduction.

The ad campaign was set up by agency BBDO in Dusseldorf, Germany, and launched with prototypes on behalf of broadcasting company Sky Deutschland in January. Now the agency plans to roll it out nationwide in Germany. Needless to say it advertises Sky's new mobile app.

Displaying a stonking belief that people really enjoy their morning snooze being interrupted by advertising, a BBDO Germany spokesperson said that passengers enjoyed this new form of advertising. We doubt that even in Germany people enjoy any form of advertising.

BBDO said the technology could be used beyond advertising to include music, entertainment, transport information and weather. The same sound transmission technology is one of the main features of Google Glass.

It seems that trying to escape the bombardment of advertising when you are unconscious is going to be a thing of the past.
