Widescreen monitor demand has been boosted by multimedia requirements amid the roll out of Microsoft's Vista operating system (OS) while Dell is pushing 22-inch widescreen monitors, which caused a tight supply for 22-inch widescreen panels, said Huei Li Zuo (transliterated from Chinese), vice director of Greater China business unit of Chi Mei, as quoted by the paper.
