Thermaltake TWV500 Total Watts Powersupply
 

It hasn't been that long since the only differences between power supplies were the number of watts it could supply. Otherwise, everything else was an industry standard of one or two 80mm fans, grey casing and 5-9 molex connectors. How times have changed. Nowadays, you get fanless power supplies (like the one here), modular power supplies to cut down on the cable clutter (like the one here), and ones with glowing fans to match the lights and windows.

Today we have the Thermaltake Purepower 500W power supply for review. Don't think that this is merely a 20W bump in Thermaltake's line of active-cooling power supplies (the 480 reviewed here). Since the last revision, many features have been added and the design has been changed completely (with the exception of its physical dimensions). All in all, the Purepower 500W makes a longer lasting impression than its predecessor.
