Buy box with drive(s) pre-installed, or empty box and your own drive(s) to put in it; attach to home or office network; do a bit of configuration via a Web page interface like the one for your Internet router doodad; done. Now you've got at least a few hundred gigabytes of storage that's accessible from every computer in the house.
