Default Tesla Model Y starts at $47K in late 2020

And in Europe will cost €56.000 in early 2021

Tesla has announced its next car and simply calls it Tesla Y. This is a higher version of Tesla 3 that has a similar interior - read no interior but a single 15inch tablet - but is slated to have three sitting rows and a range of 300 miles (482 km). Elon doesn’t tell you that a fully self-driving vehicle costs an additional $8,000 in the US and €9,200 in Europe.

Musk has announced yet another product way too early, the new car that is a mini SUV will ship in fall 2020 according to Elon Standard time, which in the real world realistically means 2021. Tesla has never made anything on time, so these projections are very optimistic, but to give it credit, it does make good but expensive electric only cars.

The new promised car with long range of 300 miles or 482 km comes with a top speed of 130 miles an hour (209 KM/h) and can get from 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds. The $47,000 does make it affordable but this is what it is aiming. There will be three more models. The Dual Motor AWD capable of 280 miles (450 km) and 4.8 seconds from 0 to 60 mph (96,56 km/h) will start at $51,000.

The performance car with 280 miles range and 150 miles per hour and 3.5 seconds from 0 to 60 mph will start at $60,000 and both AWD and performance option are slated for fall 2020.

The more affordable version with a standard range of 230 miles (370 km range) and 120 miles top speed (193 km/h ) can accelerate from 0 to 60 in 5.9 seconds will start at $39,000 in spring 2021, most likely significantly later than that. Th seven seat model is optional of course thanks to 66 cubic feet or 1.9 cube meter of cabin space matched with a panoramic glass roof. The seven seat version in US costs $3,000 and in Europe €3,200.

Bear in mind that 2020 is the tipping point for other traditional automotive companies to launch their long waited electric solutions and in 2021 the competition pressure on Tesla will be massive.
