Default Team OCaholic sets new PCmark7 and Vantage World Record

During the yesterday Samsung B2B event, which took place in the Glattfelden Switzerland, Ocaholic.ch was able to break world records in PCMark 7 as well as the PCMark Vantage. Thanks to our SSD tree, which features no less than twelve Samsung SSD 840 Pro solid state drives, and connected to the system via Areca ARC-1882ix-24-4GB Raid controller, the former records were beaten with quite a margin.

Ocaholic.ch has been able to set new world records in PCMark 7 as well as the PCMark Vantage. Both of these benchmarks scale heavily with the storage subsystem. Thanks to the fact that we had no less than twelve Samsung SSD 840 Pro solid state drives, which were put together into a one huge RAID0, Ocaholic.ch was in a very good position to attack the former world records. Putting twelve solid state drives into RAID0 mode means, that the throughput can be increased to about the tenfold of a one single drive.

With a score of 10'088 points in PCMark 7, Ocaholic.ch was able to beat the former world record, set at 8'907 points, with considerable margin. The new world record is more then 13 percent higher than the old one. In case of the PCMark Vantage, Ocaholic.ch reached a score of 59'593 points, which is around 4'000 points, or more than 7 percent, above the old world record of 55'340 points.

The setup used for the event was a liquid nitrogen cooled Core i7-4770K, which was running stably at 5.5 GHz and an IGP clock of 1'950 MHz. Everything was connected to Gigabyte's Z87X-OC motherboard, 16GB of G.Skill's F3-2400C11D memory, Gigabyte's GeForce GTX 780 OC V2 graphics card and the Sesonic SS-1000XP power supply. Regarding the storage subsystem, aforementioned 12 Samsung SSD 840 Pro 256 GB were connected in a RAID0 configuration via the Areca ARC-1882ix-24-4GB controller.
