Default Taiwanese researchers make 16nm chip

NDL used what it refers to as maskless photoresist-free nano-injection lithography to create a 16nm SRAM memory cell that measures a tiny 0.039 square micron. This makes it 43 percent smaller than the previous smallest SRAM cell. We’re not going to go into all the technical details as to how the memory cell was manufactured, as it’s all a little too technical and, since it’s still in the development stages, things might very well change before 16nm becomes a mainstream manufacturing process.
