Taipei, Taiwan—May 28, 2013—Synology® Inc. today announced the DiskStation DS1813+, an 8-bay NAS server that offers superior performance and robust resilience with comprehensive business solutions for small and medium businesses.

The DS1813+ is built for speed. With link aggregation enabled, DS1813+ can deliver up to an average of 350+ MB/sec in reading and 200+ MB/sec in writing speed under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows® environment. With 2.13 GHz dual core CPU and 2 GB DDR3 RAM, which is expandable up to 4 GB, the DS1813+ is ideal for multitasking, data-encryption, video transcoding, and virtualization environment.

DS1813+ is designed for small and medium business users as a versatile and affordable NAS server. With complete iSCSI support, DS1813+ can be seamlessly integrated with major virtualization solutions, including VMware® vSphere™ 5 with VAAI support, Citrix® XenServer™ and Microsoft® Windows Server 2012 with Hyper-V™. Feature-rich business applications, such as VPN server, mail server, printer sharing and web server, further enhance DS1813+’s cost-effectiveness.

Uninterrupted availability is a critical goal for all businesses. DS1813+ is built for reliability, featuring hot swappable drives, redundant system fans, and redundant LAN ports. With Synology High Availability (SHA), DS1813+ ensures seamless transition between clustered servers in the event of server failure to decrease the impact of downtime.
The DS1813+ runs on DiskStation Manager (DSM) 4.2, the only NAS operation system being honored “Best Choice Award” and “Media’s Choice Award” at Computex 2013, to provide rich features to boost user-productivity and simplify their tasks, all on a sleek user interface optimized for multitasking.
