Default Swiftech New Product Release: The STORM water-block

Advanced mini-jet impingement delivers superior performance to the die-hard enthusiast user.

Signal Hill, CA - Thursday June 30, 2005 - Swiftech™ today announced the release of the new "STORM" water-block. This next generation device features a host of technological innovations never before used in commercial water-block production. The “STORM” now becomes Swiftech's flagship product, crowning the company's line of high-end liquid cooling products, and is aimed specifically at the die-hard enthusiast user.

"Swiftech acquired the manufacturing rights for the extraordinarily efficient Storm G4 water-block from well-known Australian engineer Stew Forster (AKA Cathar). The resulting product combines Swiftech’s manufacturing expertise and attention to detail to deliver the most advanced water-block ever produced by our company", said Swiftech's Chairman Gabriel Rouchon.

The cooling "engine" of the STORM is a pure jet impingement design. It uses 35 mini jets directing high velocity coolant into individually matching cups. In the designer's own words: "the Storm design implements jet disruptors to turbulate incoming jets prior to striking the cup's base". Swiftech fine-tuned the design to yield slightly better performance than the original in terms of thermal and flow resistance.

I can't wait to see this baby tested. Maybe we have a winner to the H2O 120 kit?
