 | Socket 939, 940 Opteron phase-out plan revealed With AMD's roadmaps apparently placing the last orders for Socket 939 chips in the fourth quarter, it'll be nice to see the current Opterons survive a little longer. Interestingly, though, it looks like AMD plans to phase out Socket 754 in the same time frame as the last Opterons, with last orders all taking place at the end of 2007.
