Default SLI become more open : Just to make buzz ?

Following the NVIDIA announcement of GeForce 6600 compatibility with SLI, we just decided to make some tests. But as we didn’t have any couple of similarly 6600 we just reviewed two 6800GT not in SLI mode, in SLI without bridge, and SLI with bridge.

The results of SLI passing through PCI Express port are not so good because we had performance drop up to 30 % in some cases. When you know how more powerful 6600GT are compared to 6600 and that a couple of 6600 is not really cheaper than one 6600GT… You can easily think that this new SLI possibility is only to make buzz about the 800 $ PC more than to help users to have better performances…

To see the results,
