Default SiS Technologies at Cebit2004

Taipei, March 18, 2004 – CeBIT 2004, the annual technology show held in Hanover, Germany, always brings the most exciting technologies together, and this year will be no exception. SiS would like to invite you to come check out the future of Computing, Communication and Consumer technologies at Booth D41, Hall 23 from March 18-24.

The booth will feature an image show 5 times daily on the topic of “Computing, Communication and Consumer Technologies”, with the theme of wireless technologies in today’s Computing and Consumer technology environment. To complement this, SiS will feature a completely wireless environment throughout the booth for Internet access. A free business lounge featuring SiS-based notebooks will be available, all of which will feature the SiS162 wireless chip that offers users a complete wireless solution for mobile applications.

SiS will also showcase retail products featuring SiS-engineered technologies in the Information Appliance market, such as portable DVD players and wireless “Smart Ads” from Billionton and PVRs from Numa. High performance motherboards by industry leaders such as Asus and Gigabyte will of course be on display, as well as a broad range of notebooks from Fujitsu, NEC and Hitachi, Asus, ECS and AOpen. As a major player in the barebones PC market, manufacturers have looked to SiS to provide reliable, well-performing solutions. On display will be the Asus DiGiMatrix and Pundit, Shuttle's XPC, and Acer's T130.

The most advanced industry technologies, such as PCI Express, SATA and Gigabit LAN will also be on display in the newest SiS chipsets, the SiS656, SiS756 and SiS965. The SiS656 North Bridge for the Intel P4 platform supports an 800FSB, PCI-E x 16 graphics, dual channel DDR2-667 and DDR-400, while the new SIS965 South Bridge features 2 ports of PCI-E x 1, gigabit LAN, and 4 SATA.

SiS will also feature a static demo of the SiS756 chipset for the AMD64 platform, featuring PCI Express. The SiS756 will be the first market-available AMD64 platform North Bridge supporting PCI-E, and will be complemented by the afore-mentioned SiS965 South Bridge. The SiS756 will also feature the PCI-E x 16 graphics, which promises to revolutionize the gaming industry and graphics card market.

“SiS always looks forward to CeBIT,” said Michael Chen, President and CEO of SiS. “This year will be an important year for technology, with many boundaries between technologies being erased through the advent of WLAN. SiS is ready to embrace these new technologies with exciting and innovative new products for many different markets.”
