| Sierra Shutdown, 350 Out of Jobs Vivendia Universal Games has shut down Sierra which also means 350 people are out of jobs. Top games such as the FPS Game of the Year, Half-Life, came from the Seattle based company Sierra. The shutdown of Sierra is a part of VU's restructure plans for the company. "Restructuring the organization and reducing our cost base are necessary to improve our operating effectiveness and profitability." This constitutes another important step in our turnaround plan aimed to better position the company for growth." said VU Games CEO Bruce Hack. VU Games is known for the famous Half-Life 2 title which is expected to be released sometime this Summer. http://www.gamers.com/news/1481774 http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/busine..._sierra22.html
