Wow that explains alot of benchmarks I've ever seen comparing an ASUS and ABIT using the same chipset

uhm; they've been those these "tricks" even since the first motherboards out there; that's why most good motherboard reviews include the FSB speed at default "speeds".

I'm talking about the KT133 chipset time, which is quite a while agoà

All the way back to 1997 for my own experience
MSI is doing the same thing in recent years.
