Sapphire gets into heavy metal cooling SAPPHIRE IS releasing its next generation of graphic card coolers based on liquid metal. That's the latest greatest marchitecture and it's even more efficient than water cooling. How it works is very simple, you have some liquid metal and some pipes and metal will actually circle the pipes using electromagnetic phenomenon and will be able to cool the card just fine. Some early testing showed that prototype cooled Radeon X850XT PE card to just 12 Celsius. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=23331 |
I hope some 3th party coolers will be available also with this technology.( zalman / vga silencers ) |
looks nice, maybe they'll make 2 versions, one with and one without fans anyhow, there was a post about this technology a while ago, but that was to cool every computerpart, like watercooling, it was a specialised company, forgot it's name but i bet it wasn't cheap |
I read that article too, if im not mistaken the liquid metal still got cooled by air, so i wonder how they can get results of 12°C? Maby low room temp? |
