Retail Computer Purchasing Experiences

We look at the customer experience while purchasing computers from Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, and Fry’s Electronics. If you are shopping for a computer or someone relies on your advice, this article is for you.

Some retailers’ sale forces do not have the time, training, or, unfortunately, the motivation to give all their customers personalized advice and, accordingly, act more as a warehouse than a customer service/support center.
Gateway realized this and offered the service, unfortunately consumers went for the low price, no knowledge places. Gateway closed all the stores.

Knowlegde costs money, if they want to hire IT techs they'll have to pay them a lot more than a normal sales person would make; and very few IT tech people are good sales people
