you could also use it as a ramdisk, temp folder, browser cache, video-editing cache,... no problems with data loss

sure, but being able to place your OS on a ramdrive will make your whole OS fly

4gb is not big enough for video-editing btw

I don't think you can find DDR 200 in 1GB sticks nowadays anyway.

It's just not worth it.

1) It ought to be SATA-II, so it could make use of faster RAM.
2) It ought to have direct mains power and a UPS plug too, so that one's operating system could be stored there.
