Qualcomm leads mobile industry to 10nm CPUs and GPUs are on 14/16 nm Keith Kressin, a Qualcomm senior vice president, product management, reminded us how the world changed in the last ten years and that the mobile industry leads the transition to smaller manufacturing nodess. With Snapdragon 835 being the first 10nm, the mobile SoC with Qualcomm on helm takes the lead beating CPU and GPU industry to a new manufacturing node. Most of you know that the CPU and GPU industries were leading manufacturing transitions until recently. The fact is that it is extremely important for mobile industry to move to the smallest possible process to save power, add more features and get better performance per milliwatt and that's what got Qualcomm to this point. And being first is very good for end users and technology lovers too, as there are some huge benefits that come with 10nm. http://fudzilla.com/news/mobile/4217...dustry-to-10nm |
