Default Publishers Too Reluctant To Embrace New Consoles

Are publishers too reluctant to embrace new consoles? I don't know, maybe they have commitment issues. Given the pattern, it's hard to shake the distinct feeling that publishers are simply uneasy about this generation. An extra holiday season would give them the opportunity to launch into a marketplace with higher install bases. But why should they be nervous, when the new consoles are doing so well?
