PS3 4.45 Update Bricks Your Console
 

Unless you like bricks, I wouldn't update your PS3 today. Apparently the new 4.45 update is causing a bunch of problems with PS3 owners so you might want to hold off on that update. We've started getting reports from some readers that the update is bricking their system, locking their consoles on the boot-up "ribbon" screen, and a thread on Sony's official forums shows the issue is far from isolated. *UPDATE* Sony yanked the botched update.
