QX9770 @ 3.2Ghz outscores Q6600 @ 3.6GHz by a few hundred points in CPU tests? Hmm, I think not. I wonder why the ~200point difference in CPU scores. They show a Q6600 @ 3.8GHz almost 1,000 pts above what I got at 3.6Ghz.

Nice 211% score for HD 3870 verses HD 3870 X2. :)

the CPU benchmark changes with the amount of the cores, if you one 1 core the benchmark will radically different from an 8 core system

If you look at my post, every chip I listed was Quadcore. :) Only difference is Kentsfied vs Yorkfield. It appears 3DMark heavily favors Yorkfield over Kentsfield CPUs.

it was sort of a none-reply to your post, just that the CPU bench of Vantage is set up in a none-repeatable way if you use different amount of cores

Kougar 29th April 2008 14:04

Oh, well yes. It looks at # of cores, is 2GB vs 4GB RAM "aware". CPU score does not change depending on Performance, High, or Extreme test modes though.
