Default Intel Hyperthreading Parking core bug detected by OC'er OBR

Tsjech OC'er OBR awakens the performance of our Intel CPUs and reveals the true performance in WinRAR and even more benches. While AMD FX was excelling in Winrar, it was all for a very short duration. Only a month later the 3960X SB-E CPU from Intel took back the crown. But the true potential of the Intel CPU's is seeing daylight now.

Apparently there's a bug in the Windows 7 power management, making the hyperthreading cores less effective or even putting them in standby mode. Look at them scores...

Default power setting :

Now with the disabled setting :

Pretty impressive boost !

What to do to give it a try :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583 (change ValueMax from 64 to 0)

Some applications benefit from the power management off, others seem to be running a tad slower. OBR has done some more testing. Read more here :
