P4 Cooler Roundup

Enough technical talk, what's the score? Thermaltake's Silent Tower (which is actually very quiet) kept a 3.2GHz Prescott below 50oC at full load in a typical ATX case! That's a staggering result. At high fan speed Thermalright's SP-94 was second in line, followed by Gigabyte's cooler (which performed very well for its weight), with both Swiftech's and Sythe's bringing up the rear. I was really quite surprised that Swiftech's heatsink hadn't performed better at high speed, but repeated testing proved the result in my system at least.

Both Gigabyte's and Swiftech's coolers performed well at low speed, with Thermalright's offering really struggling and Scythe's giving up.

they destroyed the heatpipes of the TT to show you the difference, quite interesting :)

love this guy !

It's big, heavy, expensive and the most difficult heatsink to install in this test. It's quite brilliant. I love it, and I broke it! I can't believe I broke it! I really should stop drilling holes in things with my Dremel.

Me too, disappointed. And, now it is collecting dust in the drawer.
