| OCZ Technology Increases Memory Voltage: Voltage Boosting Device OCZ Technology Group announced the release of the DDR Booster, a power-filtering and voltage boost diagnostic device. The product is likely to enable extreme overclockers with more options to improve memory speed. OCZ DDR Booster Voltage Diagnostic Device with patent pending PowerClean Technology allows users to supply cleaner power to their memory modules, resulting in more stable memory. Additionally, users are able to view memory module voltage with the digital LEDs o*n the DDR Booster, allowing simple and inexpensive troubleshooting of the memory modules. Each OCZ DDR Booster allows VDIMM adjustments up to 3.9V and is compatible with the majority of DDR1 mainboards. Insufficient or low-quality power in a number of cases does not allow memory modules to reach higher speeds. With conventional DDR SDRAM memory reaching 600MHz, further advancement is only likely to be possible after ensuring quality memory power circuitry on the mainboard. Since most mainboards cannot deliver more than 2.85V to memory, it is crucial to develop certain means to improving the memory voltage. “PowerClean technology revolutionizes the way we approach issues relating to insufficient and/or “dirty” power that may hold back the full performance potential of memory devices,” said Dr. Michael Schuette, Director of Technology development at OCZ Technology. The OCZ DDR Booster is compatible with all first generation DDR platforms. It is simple and easy to install. Pricing and availability are not announced by OCZ at press time. http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/memory/...616031911.html

| Uhm, some people are questioning the use of such a device, as it could possibly destroy your mobo... Cos mobo sends up to 3,2V VDDR, and with such a device, you get a voltage of 3,9V, so your mobo gets 0,7V back in it's face... I hope OCZ has found a way to solve this little problem... |

| I say these new fangled contraptions are tools of the Devil!!!! Memory voltage increaser, my eye! When I was a kid we had to walk to school in the blinding snow, in our bare feet, naked, with a block of ice strapped to our backs, up-hill, both ways, and when we got there, we had to wait hours for the teacher to show up, and we were grateful for it. For lunch we ate dirt! And we were gratefull for that. Some time's we got to mix our dirt with water (on Fridays if we were good) and we were grateful for it. Computers, HA, what's so great about computers? When I was a kid they shoved an abacus up our nose and made us do calculations by shaking our heads violently from side to side, and we were grateful for it. Memory voltage increaser, tools of the Devil! |
