There is no doubt that DDR's days in the spotlight are numbered. With the arrival DDR2-based on Intel's 775 machines months ago and the upcoming use of DDR2 memory on AMD's AM2, DDR has begun to show its age. Despite the fact that the computer industry is pushing consumers to move on, DDR still offers solid performance and has done very well with AMD's 939 platform. This 2GB memory kit features tight timings and a PC4000 (DDR500) speed, so it will not only be good for general use, but should be able to handle a generous overclock as well. Memory like this is not the newest kid on the block, but there have been some clear refinements which can be seen when this memory is compared to older examples of DDR memory
