Default Nvidia releases Geforce 398.82 WHQL driver

Game Ready driver for Monster Hunter: World and World of Warcraft

Nvidia has released its newest Geforce 398.82 WHQL driver, which brings optimizations for Monster Hunter World and the latest World of Warcraft: Battle of Azeroth games, as well as a few bug fixes and other improvements.

According to the release notes, the Geforce 398.82 WHQL driver update should provide an optimal gaming experience for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth and Monster Hunter: World games but also adds or updates SLI profiles for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and World of Warcraft.

There are also several fixed issues including some for Geforce Surround and G-SYNC, bugs with Nvidia Control Panel, fixed problems in Dark Souls Remastered with SLI, issues bugs Unreal Engine 4, Wolfenstein II and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, as well as other problems seen with GTX 1080 with Dolby Vision on LG TVs.

This Geforce 398.82 WHQL driver supports all graphics cards since Geforce 600 series and is available for Windows 7, 8.1, and Windows 10. You can download it directly from Nvidia's driver support page where you can check out the full release notes.

Nvidia was also keen to talk about its own recommended GPUs for 60FPS in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, where GTX 1060 is enough for 1080p, GTX 1070 for 1440p and GTX 1080 for 2160p resolutions, all at the high detail level. Nvidia was also keen to note that with Geforce GPUs you can also "enable HBAO+ shadowing, adding depth and detail to almost-all areas of the game’s massive world, DSR for higher-resolution gameplay, and Surround for immersive multi-monitor gaming".

In case you missed it, Blizzard's World of Warcraft: Battle For Azeroth launches on August 14th, while Monster Hunter: World comes to the PC on August 9th.
