Nvidia Plans Price Drop on High-End Graphic Cards to ~$499

Nvidia Corp. plans not only to increase performance fiercely with the launch of its new code-named G71 graphics processors, but also to decrease pricing of single-chip high-end graphics cards. For those who demand ultimate performance, dual-chip graphics cards will be promoted.

Nvidia’s yet to be released GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB graphics board has planned retail price tag of $499, whereas the GeForce 7900 GT is projected to be available for $299. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price of the GeForce 7800 GTX 512 will be down to $399, according to sources with knowledge of the matter.

Default

7900GT has higher clocks than current 7800GTX (256Mb) and would be much cheaper? Interesting!
