Default Nvidia gets it right with Geforce Now

$4.99 for founders, free for an hour a session

Google launched the Stadia cloud gaming service in late November 2019, and it crashed and burned. Without going through too many details, it didn’t deliver what people had hoped and don’t let you play your games. The Nvidia Geforce Now is now available for free to everyone, hour session at a time, while the Founder Edition cost $4.99, and offers priority and unlimited gaming. Most importantly, you can play most of the games you own.

Over the years, it was clear that things will go subscription base. Back in early 2008, I sat with Jensen, CEO of Nvidia, who, back then, had a vision that mobile will become dominant. His second prediction was that subscription base model services would play a significant role in the future. The conversation took place before the iPhone and Android dominance or before Netflix and Co. streaming business. Today, twelve years later, we can say that his vision was spot on.
