The release of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 ushers in a new class of enthusiast GPU. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 GPU is based on the new 28nm "Kepler" architecture which sports the next generation Streaming Multiprocessor (SMX) containing a massive 1536 CUDA core count. While designed to be powerful, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 is also very efficient, requiring only two additional 6-pin power connectors compared to the previous generation GTX 580 as well as AMD's latest HD 7970 video card which requires extra 6-pin and an 8-pin PCI-E power connectors.
