New MSI X48 Series Motherboard
 

MSI, launched the MSI X48 Series motherboards based on the Intel® X48 Express chipset with support for the 45nm CPU generation Dual Core and Quad Core. The new MSI X48 series is THE ultimate high-end motherboard for PC enthusiasts. MSI offers users the MSI X48 Platinum with DDR3 memory and the MSI X48C Platinum, the combo solution with DDR2&DDR3 memory. Both motherboards support XPM with a memory speed higher than 1600MHz, DDR3 FSB 1600 support and DDR2 FSB 1333 support. Furthermore, the MSI X48 series is equipped with the MSI PWM GreenPower Design, the new and optimised MSI Circu-Pipe and the MSI X48 Platinum comes with onboard LED POST.

45nm CPU and XMP Ready for Outstanding Performance
The MSI X48 series support the 45nm CPU generation Dual Core, Quad Core and XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) with up to FSB 1600, DDR3-1600 and DDR2-1333. The soon to be released FSB 1600 support will be fully compatible with the highest segment of Intel 45nm quad-core (Yorkfield) processors. XMP provides a direct way to boost the high speed memory modules higher than 1600MHz. The MSI X48 Platinum is equipped with onboard LED POST that shows the boot status or warnings if necessary as an overclocking friendly feature.

MSI PWM GreenPower Design
In order to provide maximum savings up to 80% the MSI X48 motherboard series comes with a revolutionary MSI PWM Green Power Design (PWM: Pulse Width Modulation). Its advanced design consists out of a dual channel 4-fase PWM. Each channel is build up by 2 shielded chokes and a MOSFET base which brings the highest power effiency. This original and revolutionary GreenPower design by MSI will lead the motherboard’s power design in fewer phases to provide better power supply.

New and improved “MSI Circu-Pipe”
The new MSI X48 series is equipped with an enhanced award winning fan-less cooling design “Circu-Pipe”. The new Circu-Pipe provides the best cooling solution with its fin-typed heat-sink around the heat-pipe that not only reduces heat efficiently but also saves space around the CPU for big coolers.

ATI CrossFire X
With 4 PCI Express 2.0 x 16 VGA slots, the MSI X48 series can run CrossFire X. CrossFire X is the latest technology that makes it possible to run three dual slot or even four MSI graphic cards in CrossFire mode to create an enormous graphic force.

MSI Exclusive Dual CoreCell Technology and MSI Live Update online
MSI Dual CoreCell Technology is a combination of MSI Dual CoreCell chip and software consisting of operation interfaces and powerful integrated functions. Through the re-layout and planning of the circuit, the users are able to achieve performance, silence, image, and sound precision such as computing acceleration, signal purification, and noise reduction. The MSI Live Update online is designed to automatically download and update the BIOS and driver when there’s a new version online. It helps reduce the risk of getting the wrong file and minimize the inconvenience of searching the files on the MSI website.
