Netscape RIP - AOL puts dying browser out of its misery AOL on Friday stopped development of the Netscape browser, saying the respected brand that launched the commercial Internet in 1994 had little chance of ever regaining market share against its archrival Microsoft's Internet Explorer. http://www.informationweek.com/news/...leID=205204433 |
It looks like Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox are the two Internet browsers left standing to battle it out in the future. |
And Opera :) |

Hmm, sadly is rather true that. But I'll sit on the sidelines and watch! :) IE7 is a clunker and FireFox... Firefox was great, but had way to many plug-in problems to deal with to get features I wanted. Then with every minor update some plugins would break and I had to spend time tracking down which ones were crashing the browser all over again. Not a problem with Opera, it just works and works great with everything I want. |
