Default Nehalem Laptops Coming Mid 2009

First Core i7 processors targeted for high-performance desktop systems and based on the new Nehalem micro-architecture will be announced this November. However, their mobile analogues should start conquering the market much later. The future mobile platform that will use new processor architecture is scheduled to be announced only in 2009. Today it is referred to as Calpella.

The main peculiarity of this platform will be transition from triple-chip to dual-chip design. The CPU of the new platform will be responsible for the memory controller and PCI Express x16 graphics bus. As for the Ibex Peak-M chipset, it will implement only I/O functionality.
