Default "My PC New Year's Resolution"

Some things I have pledged for 2007 regarding My Computer:

1.) No more "Hard-Core/Exotic" over-clocking. I have already ripped out my Vapochill and threw it away. I have ruined my CPU's a lot more times than I care to mention. I feel the money I have spent on hard-core overclocking just does not justify any benefit I saw. I have my current CPU OC'd, just to the limit the stock CPU cooler can handle.

2.) No more Microsoft. I will not choose the Vista upgrade path. I am sick of MS shoving their bug-infested, DRM-riddled software down my throat. I'm jumping ship and going MAC, starting with a PowerBook.

3.) No more PC games. I have wasted phenomenal amounts of money on keeping my "gaming rig" up to par. I've resolved to the fact that it is cheaper just to buy a console to play games. I'll probably wind up getting a PS3.

1) Never have the interest from the beginning; it's like putting a fifth leg on a horse to win the race
2) Can't fault MS; Vista is two years away to be found in my rig.
3) Enjoy having the PS2 for years; agree totally on PS3 over PC games

1) only reason you didn't see the benefit is because there is no software to actually take advantage of that extra CPU power; wait until programmers figure out to tax CPU more in games
2) not in very immediate future, but inevitable down the line, Microsoft is the main player, in 5 years, the only OS you can use to play the latest games (be it racing or any other genre) will be Vista, by that time a copy will set you back $50 and with SP2 will be a smooth ride, much like XP SP2 now is (compared to the initial launch).
3) never. Supreme Commander. Live for Speed. *insert name of FPS game*

Crikey, If you want to go MAC, that's fine.....but swearing off overclocking and gaming? Why not just give up sex too?

EDIT: Although, now that I think of it....I guess going MAC does kind of swear off overclocking and gaming anyway, eh? So it shouldn't be too hard.
