Multiplying Multicores to Boost CPU Power

Multicore architectures, with more CPU cores integrated, just don't provide the performance we expected," semiconductor industry people began pointing out some time ago.
Back in 2004, though, when Advanced Micro Devices Inc and Intel Corp, both of the US, first began experimenting with multicore architectures, there was no other choice.

Amdahls law could be very interesting soon, it would be interesting what game developers have to say about the value of x in games.

Do you have anything to ask game developers regarding Amdahl's Law? I have a meeting with several developers in the future (late January), and would love some questions... feel free to PM me.

I'd be curious to know how they plan to make bigger and better games without smacking into the 2GB addressable memory barrier... or if that is even a concern to them? Supreme Commander runs great, but both it and the sequal run into the 2GB barrier with only small maps and 4 AI in use.

The game was designed to allow maps 4x in size with 8 players, but it is impossible to attempt to use try it as the game hits 2GB inside 20 minutes to hard crash.
