Default MSI Wind Battery Upgrade Coming

MSI's Wind netbook will finally be available with a 5200mAh 6-cell battery in late September.

However, if you've already got a Wind with a 3-cell battery and you'd like to more juice, you'll have to wait a bit. At first the 6-cell will be offered with only with certain Wind SKUs and will not be available as an after-market unit immediately.

We had a chance to see the Wind with the big battery in Belgrade and we were pleased to see that it doesn't turn the Wind into a hunchback. It does not protrude to the rear of unlike most 6-cell/8-cell batteries on ultra portables, keeping the footprint small. It just raises the rear a bit and some consumers will probably find it easier to type with the 6-cell unit.
