Default MSI Unleashes Maximum Power of Nvidia nForce4 chipset

MSI, one of the leading computer motherboard manufacturers and the well-known AMD platform solution provider, today announced the debut of nForce4 chipset family motherboards. The MSI K8N Diamond and K8N Neo4 Platinum motherboards offer cinematic processing with powerful PCI Express x16 graphics interface and Nvidia's exclusive SLI technology.

Ever since AMD Athlon 64 and Athlon64FX seized the crown in the 64-bit processing world; users nowadays have high expectation on AMD64 processor. The cinematic processing for virtual reality and 3D games has become one of the most-expected features by PC enthusiasts and power gamers alike. The PCI Express x16 does not only eliminate the bottleneck of AGP 8X by doubling its speed, but also by substituting the asynchronous transmitter with full-duplex architecture.

K8N Diamond and K8N Neo4 Platinum both provide dual gigabit Ethernet onboard for great connectivity. One of gigabit Ethernet is PCI Express LAN with tremendous 2.5Gb/s bandwidth. Another gigabit Ethernet supports Nvidia Active Armor technology, hardware network firewall engine to protect intrusion from internet. Compare to software protection, Active Armor reduces the CPU utilization by handling most of the steps to inspect network packets.

The K8N Diamond with Nvidia SLI technology can accelerate the 3D performance by over 180% via two SLI-ready graphics cards. The Nvidia nForce4 chipset features configurable PCI Express lanes for SLI technology, and the graphics interface can be set as a single PCI Express x16 or dual PCI Express x8.

The other new interface is SATA2 which supports data transfer rates up to 3GB/sec - twice the speed of SATA1. The NVRAID 2.0 can obtain unmatched storage performance with SATA2 hard drives in the wink of an eye. Its scalability can also configure the disk array across SATA and IDE hard drives as single RAID.

MSI has also adopted the Silicon Image RAID controller for its nForce4 family motherboards. It offers two additional ports with SATA2 for K8N Diamond and RAID 5 function for K8N Neo4 Platinum.
In addition, MSI has integrated more exclusive technologies onboard, including CoreCell chip, D.O.T. (Dynamic Overclocking Technology), Meta I/O and Communication Slot.
The Communication Slot is an optimized and extended version of the basic PCI specification to provide ultimate interface for PCI network cards. MSI develops proprietary Dual-Net card exclusively for communication slot(s) which combine 802.11g wireless networking with Bluetooth technology. This add-on card with antenna offers convenient connection to most wireless devices.
For the communication slot, MSI has developed a new user interface called DigiCell, which helps users' start-up the access point and gateway in just two clicks. Only two steps away from turning your MSI motherboard into a Digital Home Center.
Unless you have extra dollars to spare, MSI's Wireless LAN card is tailored for the budget-minded consumer. It eliminates the cost of physical access point and IP sharing device. You can actually upgrade your PC system into a home server or digital entertainment for your family to enjoy.
Installed with MSI wireless networking card, user can save the cost of physical access point and IP sharing device. Your PC system could be upgraded as home server or digital entertainment server in family.
