Default MS Releases W7 Patch to Delete Old Windows Updates

In lieu of releasing another self-cleaning service pack for Windows 7, Microsoft has released an update to help clean up those pesky past Windows Update files that are no longer needed. Microsoft designed Windows 7 so that when a new service pack is released, the user has an option to clean up all those old Windows Update files that are no longer needed in that directory.
