that won't happen, Mac likes their "elite" status and to keep it, they have higher prices; if they Apple ibooks cost less than the average XP/Vista laptop, people will wonder why it is cheaper. Cheaper = worse, right?

that's what most people think. That's why Monster Cables can sell HDCP cables at $200 while the quality of that $10 cable is identical.
