Meizu launches the latest flagship smartphone MX4 Pro
 

November 19th, 2014 - Premium Chinese smartphone maker, Meizu, today launched their latest flagship smartphone the MX4 Pro in the Vice Pavillon of National Stadium in Beijing.



CEO of Meizu, Bai Yongxiang, took to the stage to introduce the excellence of the MX4 Pro, which represents break from the norm in cutting edge technology.

Meizu wanted to make a large screen flagship phone that fans of small handsets could enjoy. With clever engineering, the MX4 Pro measures just 77mm wide, with a weight of just 158g, thanks to narrow 2.8mm bezels but retains a 5.5-inch display. Compared to current 5.5-inch phones on the market the MX4 Pro is the narrowest and most comfortable to use to date. Narrow bezels also means that the face of the phone is 76.5% display, yet we have still left enough room for our ground breaking mTouch security feature.

We have gone beyond 2K with our latest smartphone. The MX4 Pro has a phenomenal 2560 x 1536 resolution display, the first on the market. Nega and PSR screen technology mean that this 546ppi display is bright, easy to read, fast ro refresh but low on power consumption.

Processor choice was crucial for the MX4 Pro. We wanted to give users a powerful CPU to drive the pixels on the 2K display, but not drain the battery life to nothing. To this end a Samsung Exynos 5430 chipset with Mali-T628 GPU has been adopted. This is the worlds first 20nm processor, built on a big.LITTLE platform of ARM Cortex-A15 and Cortex A7 cores which can automatically turn on or off depending on demand for increase speed and battery life. 3GB RAM prevents a bottleneck and allows games, 2K video and 4K video recording to be processed with ease.

Audio is a big part of Meizu’s history, so when designing the MX4 Pro we wanted the phone to feature the best audio available in a handset to date. A challenge which are designers rose to! The MX4 Pro features premium audio features which include a ES 9018K2M for an unprecedented DNR or 127dB, and T1 OPA1612 operational amplifier with high open loop gain of 120dB. The MX4 Pro also uses two thin-film capacitors and several high-precision resistors with low temperature drift to remove unwanted background noise with passive filters in the audio circuit design. With no interference of electric current, signals remain clean before entering the operational amplifier; therefore the original sound is faithfully reproduced. Your ears will be happy to hear that we have also created a new set of earphones for the MX4 Pro which take advantage of the new audio technology. The Meizu EP21-HD adopts 128ohm impedance translating to outstanding audio performance.

The MX4 Pro has been optimised to be an intergral part of your dailylife, so we wanted to create a fast to access and safe method of securing your personal information. Meizu mTouch is the first time a front facing, press activated fingerprint scanner has been used in an Android phone. The elegant button is made of sapphire glass and after pressing can identify your fingerprint in less than 500milliseconds. Fast and secure! mTouch together with Flyme also encrypts all your data for extra security, meaning you can also make fast payments from our mPay feature which we will launch with Alipay in the future.

With 5 network types across 13 different frequency bands the MX4 Pro can make use of the latest TD-LTE and FDD/TD-LTE 4G Networks and also 3G and 2G Networks. Even when connected to the fastest data on earth a 3350mAh battery means amazing endurance.

Once again Meizu have used the the advanced Sony IMX 220 Exmor RS 20.7 mega-pixel sensor, 1/2.3-inch CMOS, ISP chip with optimisations for the MX4 Pro. An all new 5 mega-pixel senor has been hand picked, together with Face AE technology and the latest FotoNation beauty algorithm so your selfies will look better than ever.

Designed to make a large screen smartphones easier to use, Flyme has evolved to Flyme 4 and taken influence from the oriental aesthetics of Wabi-Sabi for a more colourful and brilliant experience. The new UI has upgraded more through restructuring display functional areas to make the upper half as display area and the latter half as touch control area. Flyme 4 has more systematical combination of functions to make better performance. More functions like Security Center, Authority Control and Reading Center that makes you feel easier and faster every time you use it.
