Leadtek Exits Graphics Market, Foxconn Enters

Foxconn officials have confirmed the company's entrance into the graphics market today during Computex Taipei. As part of its announcement, Leadtek will simultaneously withdraw from the VGA market. Foxconn is the primary original equipment manufacturer for Leadtek video cards, and the withdrawal of Leadtek's presence is to reduce the cross-over between the two companies. For now Foxconn will only announce NVIDIA graphics cards for the launch.

hmz, strange...

Leadtek has an already established name in the graphics market. seems odd to just dump it & introduce a more generic name instead.

everyone knows Foxconn of course, but i think their name is more related to sub-parts (connectors obviously amongst others ) than enthousiast graphics solutions. For some reason i dont see Foxconn releasing 3d cards with 700grams of copper attached to it.

Foxconn has of course been building a more popular name for itself lately, this might just be the next phase. i'm curious how much effort they'll put in winning the hearts of the enthousiast market segment.

Foxconn is not very known in the enthusiast world, they never had any enthusiast products, maybe this will change, for one, their nF5 motherboard seems to be a better performer than the Asus NF5 version; but it comes with active NB cooling, which is of course quite loud
