Julian Assange will have to face the music

The UK Supreme Court has dismissed a bid by WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to reopen his appeal against extradition to Sweden.

According to RT, Assange faces a possible two charges in Sweden of being a truly rotten date.

Two weeks ago, the UK Supremes said that Assange had to go and face the Swedish court, but his legal team had another crack at getting them to re-open the appeal.

Now seven judges of Britain's top court have unanimously dismissed this cunning plan and told him to pack his bags.

His lawyers had argued that the Appeal decision two weeks ago was based on a legal point that had not been argued in court.

Assange claims the sex was consensual and that the allegations against him are politically motivated. He also fears that the Swedes will extradite him to the US which wants to book him for spying.

The Supremes have given Assange a two-week grace period before extradition proceedings can start. Then officials have 10 days to fly him to Sweden.

This will give him some time to take his case to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in Strasbourg. But the European Court is unlikely to block Assange's extradition.

If he goes to Sweden he will be imprisoned and placed under extremely restrictive conditions until his case is heard.
