Default JMicron Develops SATA 6Gbps Controller For SSDs

JMicron has successfully developed SATA 6Gbps controller ICs for application in solid state drives, which is expected to begin small-volume shipments in the third quarter.

According to the source,JMicron will substantially increase shipments of its in-house developed SATA3 SSD controllers in the fourth quarter as orders are expected to arrive.

In addition, the company is already shipping SSD controllers to Toshiba and Kingston to boost the profitability for 2011,as SSD controllers carry higher gross margins.
