![]() | ![]() Two models, the X18-M and X25-M, will be available in 1.8" and 2.5" form factors, respectively, and will be targeted at consumer laptops and desktops. These drives are based on multi-level cell (or MLC) flash technology, and Intel plans to ship them in 80GB and 160GB flavors. The firm quotes read speeds of up to 250MB/s and write speeds up to 70MB/s, with read latencies at only 85 microseconds (or 0.085 milliseconds, in standard hard drive units). Active power use is rated at 150 mW, with 0.06 W typical draw at idle. The 80GB variants are in the sampling stage now and should be in production in the next month, with the 160GB version coming in early 2009. http://techreport.com/discussions.x/15346
