| Intel to spend $6-8 billion on new fab, manufacturing upgrades Fresh from posting record quarterly revenue, Intel has announced the construction of a new fab and upgrades to its existing manufacturing capacity in the States. The chipmaker plans to spend between $6 billion and $8 billion on the initiative, creating 6,000-8,000 construction jobs and 800-1,000 permanent positions in the process. http://techreport.com/discussions.x/19833
