Default Intel shows off 49 Qbit computer

Development increasing but still a long way from quantum counterstrike

Boffins at D-Wave, IBM, and Intel have all been releasing quantum computers, and all of them are showing a rapid development.

At CES 2018 last week, Intel’s CEO, Brian Krzanich, declared the company’s new 49-qubit quantum computer represented a step towards “quantum supremacy.”

This is a rapid improvement for Intel which could only demonstrate 17-qubit system two months ago.
