Default Intel ships faster clocked Skylakes

Chipzilla has added new Core i7 Skylake (and mobile Xeon) models to its CPU price list, which should be coming to a PC near you soon.

So far laptops based around Intel's 6th generation Core architecture have mostly been aimed at entry-level and mainstream users but these should have enough power to be a little more interesting.
The top of the range is the Core i7-6970HQ. It is a quad-core chip with Hyper Threading which is clocked at 2.8GHz. It has 8MB of cache with a $623. We don’t expect to see this in any laptop we can afford.

The Core i7-6870HQ and Core i7-6770HQ are quad-cores with Hyper Threading with the higher of the two clocked at 2.7GHz with 8MB of cache and priced at $434, and the other clocked at 2.6GHz with 6MB of cache and priced at $378.

These are likely to be the best spec until the arrival of Intel's Extreme Edition Skylakes – whenever that is.

Intel also added a trio of Xeon CPUs, all of which are quad-core parts with Hyper Threading support and 8MB of cache. There is the E3-1535M v5 clocked at 2.8GHz and priced at $489, E3-1545M v5 clocked at 2.9GHz and priced at $679, and E3-1575M v5 clocked at 3GHz and priced at $1,207.

Intel improved its Celeron lineup on the desktop. There is the J3710 which is four cores, 4 threads, 2MB cache and up to 2.64GHz. IT will retail for $161. Then there is the G3920 with two cores, two threads, 2MB cache, 2.9GHZ which will cost $52. There is the G3900 with two cores, 2 threads, 2MB cache, 2.8GHZ which will cost $42. Finally there is the Intel J3160 with four cores, four threads, 2MB cache, up to 2.24GHz and priced at $107
