Intel’s Skylake to arrive in October

The much anticipated availability of Skylake microprocessors for notebooks is expected to arrive in October.

That’s according to Digitimes, which said Intel will introduce 18 types of Skylake processors in the fourth quarter.

That means that if you’re thinking of buying a Windows 10 machine, you’ll be better off waiting until then, to get the maximum hit on the performance front.

Digitimes said that supply chain vendors are already making Skylake based notebooks and added that Hewlett Packard is ahead of the pack.

There doesn’t look to be too much activity in the channel in the third quarter, as vendors are already struggling to reduce stock levels of existing notebooks.

Digitimes said we’ll also see Chromebooks using the new Skylake CPU in October but entry level processors won’t come until early next year.
