Default Intel Readies Dual-Core Atom N500 Processor for Netbooks.

ntel Corp. is reportedly preparing a dual-core Atom microprocessor for netbooks in a bid to further improve performance of ultra low-cost personal computers and improve competitive position on the market.

According to PCInpact, Intel plans to release N500 microprocessor, which will likely be based on Pineview design, will have an integrated memory controller as well as built-in graphics core. The chip will feature two cores along with Hyper-Threading technology. Its clock-speed and thermal design power are not known, unfortunately.
